I’m Doug Chadwick, and I want to serve as your Whatcom County Sheriff
I’m a lifelong county resident with a passion for serving my community. I’m proud to have been with the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office for 29+ years and have had the honor of being second in command to Sheriff Bill Elfo since 2019.
No doubt about it, we’re facing some challenges today. With your support and participation, we can develop collaborative solutions to these problems.
By working together:
- We will reduce crime and increase the safety and security of all who live and visit here.
- We will reduce the amount of dangerous drugs coming into our community and hold those who profit from addiction accountable for their actions.
- We will build an appropriately sized, safe and humane correctional facility that best serves and meets the needs of the community, offenders and corrections staff.
- We will enhance resources and improve plans to respond to natural disasters and emergency events that impact our communities.
- We will treat everyone with dignity and respect.
